Event TabsSummaryDates: Friday, March 20, 2015Location: Geneva Switzerland CH In the face of global climate change, its impacts and uncertainties, access to the ‘best available knowledge’ on climate is often cited as an essential requirement for decision making. The use of local and indigenous knowledge for climate change adaptation is still debated and until now has remained on the sidelines. Indigenous knowledge needs to be documented and validated to be effectively integrated with the current provision of climate services. The meeting, jointly co-organized by GFCS Office, UNESCO and WMO, explored opportunities for collaboration on "Integrating scientific and indigenous knowledge for climate change adaptation" in the context of GFCS.
